These Pictures Were Meant to Go Live This Past Week, More...

These pictures were meant to go live this past week, more like a traditional outfit inspiration post for Diwali. But things happen, situations go berserk and everything just slips out of control. Last week was nothing short of craziness- between all the Diwali preparations and a few influencer events, I was left overwhelmed and over exhausted. There was so much going on already and I was being too ambitious, so much that at one point I couldn't keep pace with time and or things.
Anyways, this entire Diwali shindigs left me with a sprained back. I might have pulled a muscle or two. My back has been killing me and I have been struggling to do little things around the house. If this doesn't get any better in the next couple of days, I might have to seek medical help. I just hope there is no serious issue underlying this pain.

Ever wondered what all goes into a picture? Well besides the editing, there is a lot of planning and prep work that has to be done ahead of time. For this one pink smoke shot above I had to do at least 35 outtakes, if not 30.  I had to choose a safe place, favorable ( non-windy)  weather to do it. The right props were needed to hold the smoke canisters cuz the canister was getting too hot to hold with bare hands. I had to hold my breath the entire time the smoke loomed around me. Anyways, I have a couple tips for you in case you decide to recreate this colored smoke fog picture: #1 use the large smoke canisters as they come in a case making it easier to hold in hands and they last longer, #2 always keep the smoke behind the subject, yourself in this case, as inhaling the smoke is not advisable and it might even stain your clothing.
I recently attended a champagne tasting event at the Watergate hotel and I was slammed with questions about my outfit ( check out this post ).  To be honest, I actually layered too dresses to get this uniquely appealing outfit. I wore an old mesh dress over a printed dress, both with relatively similar hem length, belted it and a new dress was born. I'd be happy to proudly accept the repeat offender award for this one.
I always emphasize on self-care and for that matter I just appreciate brands that create an entire line of skincare and self-care. Having products from the same brand that align with your regimen makes your job and life so much easier.  I have been using RIOVEA's Illuminating series and it is just amazing. This is the time when your skin dries out, looses it's luster and you need products that are meant to essentially address these skin issues. This entire Illuminating kit has a cleanser, a toner, a serum and a moisturizer. A line that would highly recommend for anyone looking to up their skincare, self-care game this fall/winter season.
I had been wanting to own a bright red pant suit and I might have found my perfect match right here. The package arrives in a couple of days and I can't wait to style em for you. I am thinking two looks : #1 with a pair of my purple studded pumps for this in-between weather, and #2 with a pair of black booties and a long trench for when the weather gets cooler.
What are things keeping you on your toes lately??
