The World’s First Facebook Ring Experiment – Guest Post

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

The brainchild of contemporary jewelry designer Andrew Geoghegan, this unique experiment allows ‘likers’ of his Facebook page to vote on fundamental design choices to help create the world’s first Facebook ring. Here’s Andrew explaining the experiment (with the help of his rather cute dog Wilbur):

Award winning designer, Andrew Geoghegan, is a tour-de-force in the fine jewelry industry. In pursuit of perfection, the AG brand has become synonymous with meticulously designed and elegantly crafted pieces.

Showcasing British design at its absolute best, his platinum and 18ct gold bridal and cocktail ring collections exude luxury and sophistication. With a commitment to creating contemporary classics using only the most exquisite diamonds and gem stones, he has become one of the most sought after jewelry designers in the UK today.

Wanting to engage his ever growing band of followers on Facebook, Andrew Geoghegan decided to launch this innovative social media design project. Every week, Andrew allows his followers to vote on a stage in the design process and the most popular option wins that round. He started in Round One by asking followers to choose the type of ring, either engagement or cocktail. In Round Two, likers were asked to choose the color of diamond and Round 3 called for a decision on the choice of cut. So far Andrew Geoghegan Facebook fans have chosen to design an engagement ring with a white diamond Asscher cut stone. You join us for Round 4 of the experiment where you can vote for the all important diamond configuration.

The team at Andrew Geoghegan have been delighted with the response from the followers and the comments they’ve posted about the design process. Andrew stated “It’s been fascinating to see which choice the Facebook fans have voted for each week and the feedback they have provided has shown that people are really getting excited about what they are going to produce as a collective audience”. The experiment will run until the end of May and to say thank-you for being part of the Andrew Geoghegan Facebook Ring experiment, one lucky entrant will win a rather fabulous iPad 3.
