There isn't a smokey eye without a purple in it (somewhere) and there isn't a smokey eye on Beauty Traveller that is without a purple in it (sometime). No wonder Purple is called is the color of GOD. Its such hypnotic and magical. Purple is all about making the eyes shine brighter and team it up with Brown or Hazel eyes and it impart that bedazzling effect on them. As a part of the Winter Smokey eye, this is the second tutorial.
For the Winters I am a big fan of dark egg plant purples and purples that have much more bluer undertones than red. These purples are much more cooler and very wearable at any degree of intensity that you want. From a soft and scintillating eye liner to a full blown smokey eye, Purple has always been magical.
So lets see how to achieve this beautiful and alluring Purple Smokey eye............
Begin with prepping the skin with a Guerlain Meteorites Base Lumiere Primer followed by YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation in BD50, Clinique All About Eyes concealer and MAC Set Powder in Peach.
Conceal the under eyes to waken up the eyes and the complexion. Always use a loose powder especially a peach toned one to set the under eyes. The peach cuts the blue of the under eye circles.
Prime the lids with Lorac Behind the Scenes eyeshadow primer to keep the eyeshadows secured in place.
Trace the lash line with Stila Smudgeproof eyeshadow in Ladyfish. Its this perfect blackened aubergine with Fuchsia shimmer.
Smudge the eye liner with a pencil brush. This accentuates the glitter particles in pencil and stains the lash line at the same time.
On the outer corners apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Black Market. This is a softened black with very high and opaque levels of pigmentation.
Apply Deep Purple from the LORAC PRO palette in the crease and blend it upwards.
Highlight the brow bone with the NUDE eyeshadow from the LORAC PRO Palette.
Darken the crease even more with the Deep Purple color from the LORAC Pro palette. Also apply some of the deep purple remaining on the brush in the inner corners. This makes the eyes look beautifully shaped.
Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in VICE on the center of the lids and blend it into the dark colors. See that there are no harsh lines of demarcation.
Smoke out the Deep Purple on the lower lids with a pencil brush. To retain the almond shaped eye, apply the eyeshadow thicker on the outside, going thinner inside. Smoke it out then.
Trace and fill in the inner rims of the lower lids with Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof pencil in Black.
Trace the upper lash line again with Stila Smudgeproof eye pencil in Ladyfish. Its the most beautiful pencil I have ever got.
Apply this beautiful bright gold eyeshadow from the LORAC PRO palette in the inner "v" with a flat eyeshadow brush.
Curl the lashes and apply 2-3 coats of LORAC Pro mascara. This is one amazing mascara that is a better version of the dud Lancome Hypnose Doll's Eyes mascara in Black.
To balance this stunning smokey eye, I prefer to keep the rest of the face neutral and glowing. Instead of opting for the conventional peach or pink tones, I thought of going with the beige and brown tones. That means, I applied Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Orchid Rose on the cheeks and then a neutral beige like Rouge G in Guerlainade on the lips with a dash of Guerlain Kiss Kiss Gloss in Beige Secret or Beige Caprice.
