The Weekend

“Never do a single thing in the anticipation to prove something to someone who has hurt you. If someone has hurt or offended you (whoever that person may be), never perform anything or strive for anything in your life with the mind of proving something to that someone/ to those people. May nothing that you do be done with any thought of them in mind. There is nothing that needs to be proven.”

I have been hurt many times in big ways; been to the school of hard knocks, not by knocking on the door, but by crashing in. And every single time I have never tried to prove anything to any one I had simply fumed; simmered down and continued living my own life; taking back the compromises I had made and enjoying the stage I'm in. Life is truly simple when you don't try to meet other's standards by trying to prove to them that you can meet their standards, because, pause.....What about your own standards? What about my own standards? Wouldn't rising to meet their standards infer that my own standards are lower? So, you see, there is nothing that needs to be proven. No, not by this mint shirt not the pastel shoes with the color-block heels. They are beautiful by their own standards and prove themselves so simply by being.  Hope you have a lovely weekend! The Weekend
