The Ele­phant Yard is search­ing for the Northwest’s Most Mem­o­rable Bride. The lucky win­ner will receive a pack­age of high qual­ity wed­ding goods and ser­vices worth over £5000.

The pack­age is worth over £5000, made up of prizes donated by Ele­phant Yard retail­ers and Unfor­get­table Wed­ding Fayre organ­is­ers. It includes pro­fes­sional pho­tog­ra­phy for the wed­ding day, suit hire, flow­ers, hair and make-up, use of a hon­ey­moon villa on the Turquoise Coast in Turkey; rail tick­ets to the air­port, £500 towards rings, £100 towards cake, fra­grances and skin­care, and a cer­e­mony and venue pack­age worth up to £1000. The com­pe­ti­tion has been launched as part of Ele­phant Yard’s first Wed­ding Fayre; which will be held on 14th Octo­ber, with other events run­ning dur­ing the weeks before and after.

Ele­phant Yard’s Peter Boyd explains: “The retail­ers in Ele­phant Yard thought it would be a great oppor­tu­nity to put together a pack­age of wed­ding prod­ucts and ser­vices to help take the sting out the high cost of arrang­ing a wed­ding. We’re look­ing for a bride with per­son­al­ity who wants to cre­ate a mem­o­rable and unusual wedding.”

He added: “Kendal and its sur­round­ing areas make a won­der­ful set­ting for any wed­ding. We felt it was time to run our own Wed­ding Fayre to show­case the best the region has to offer. Our event in Octo­ber will be a fan­tas­tic oppor­tu­nity for any­one plan­ning a wed­ding to meet some amaz­ing local com­pa­nies and have a great day out at the same time.”

The com­pe­ti­tion is open to any bride (includ­ing from civil part­ner­ships) who plans to get mar­ried before the end of Octo­ber 2014 and who resides in the North­west of Eng­land. Entrants should write a per­sonal state­ment of around 200 words out­lin­ing what makes them the Most Mem­o­rable Bride.

The com­pe­ti­tion will be judged by a panel of judges and those short­listed will go through to a pub­lic vote round. The win­ner will be announced at the Ele­phant Yard Wed­ding Fayre on 14th Octo­ber 2012. The clos­ing date for entry is 23rd Sep­tem­ber 2012.
