The Tough Parts of Pregnancy
YAY you're pregnant, whether you've been trying for a long time or it happened super quick, your emotions will be all over the place and you are already planning the nursery decor and going home outfit! Pregnancy is a wonderful thing granted, but there are also parts which are pretty tough, completely worth it obviously but its always good to be one step ahead and prepare yourself with what you can expect! Not every person is the same so whilst your friend is telling you to prepare for the worst sickness you'll ever had, you might be like me and get no sickness at all! Don't let it scare you, it really is a small price to pay for the end result :). Below I have listed the three symptoms I had that affected me the most, but don't worry, there are remedies for all of them :)

Sore boobs

Usually the first few weeks/months this will happen, this was actually one of the first things that told me I was pregnant, I was literally in agony, they were so sensitive and it was almost impossible to wear a bra! Obviously the good side is how much bigger they get but boy do they hurt! Invest in some good maternity bras without the underwire, there seems to be a lot of myths surrounding non underwired bras, I promise you, they DO support and they are literally like wearing a cloud under your clothes! I got mine from Mothercare and lived in them until Abbie was about 3 months old! Its especially important that it fits properly too so don't be shy and visit a department store and get measured up, sore squished boobs is not something you want! :)

Heartburn

I won't lie, this was the worst thing for me, I had it on and off from the very beginning, then as soon as I hit the third trimester, it was like swallowing fire! It hit with a vengeance at night time, thank god for Gaviscon that's all I can say! I literally used about 4 bottles of the stuff throughout my pregnancy but it was amazing and worked like a charm, instantly cooling my throat and easing the burning feeling, I tried lots of other remedies such as drinking milk and taking antacids but nothing else gave me the feeling of 'Ahhh' like Gaviscon! I stuck with the original flavor for mine but they do actually have it in strawberry now so that might help with taking it too! I'd say definitely get prepared and buy a few bottles and keep them in the medicine cupboard, you will thank the lord when you wake up in the middle of the night and remember you have some already!

Tiredness

The inevitable, I would literally sleep all the time, especially in the third trimester, my body was just exhausted! You have to remember that you are carrying extra weight, blood and of course a little baby, of course you're going to bed tired! All I can say is nap when you can, as soon as I had a day off work I would be in bed at 9pm and sleep through till midday sometimes, I would feel so much better for a good rest and make sure I just chilled out for the afternoon and did absolutely nothing! People always say 'you won't have time to do anything when the baby is here', that's not entirely true, but whilst you don't have that second little person to keep an eye on 24/7, have some YOU time and get some pampering if you fancy it! Go to a spa with the girls and treat yourself, you definitely won't have time for that once baby is here, and to be honest, you won't want to leave them anyway :)
