" Mom how was everything created? " This is a question asked by a child while walking through the streets, with his mother. I believe this is a question that everyone would have asked at least once in their lifetime. This is a question that has received many cryptic answers. Starting from mythical explanations to scientific ones. This is a question that has been intriguing people for a long time.
Today we will try to answer this question.
The most common explanation for the creation of universe is The Big Bang theory. It is the most widely known and the most accepted theory. It is something that everyone of you might have heard. The Universe was earlier an empty space in which a massive blast occurred, which led to the creation of Universe as we know it.
But this theory has many flaws, one of them being that, it cannot explain the existence of the mass of an object. Take it like this whatever you see around you has some definite weight,and it occupies some space. We said that the Universe had been created from a massive blast this means everything around us had been created from this blast. Now think about it, how can an explosion provide mass to something. Now doesn't it sound illogical. So to explain this phenomenon Peter Higgs and his group of five scientists came up with a mechanism in 1964. This mechanism suggested the presence of a particle that could be responsible for the creation of Universe. This particle was named in the honor of Peter Higgs as the 'Higgs Boson' or more commonly known as the God Particle.

Although Higgs's name has come to be associated with this theory, several researchers between about 1962 to 1970 each independently developed different parts of it. This particle is said to be present everywhere and despite of that it's existence is very hard to confirm. The search for this elusive particle has taken more than 40 years and led to the construction of one of the world's most expensive and complex experimental facilities to date, the Large Hadron Collider or LHC for short. It is able to create Higgs Bosons and other particles for observation and study.
Now another question might arise in your mind that 'what are the benefits of this particle?' To answer that as yet, there are no known immediate technological benefits of finding the Higgs particle. However, observers in both media and science point out that when fundamental discoveries are made about our world, their practical uses can take decades to emerge, but are often world-changing when they do. A common pattern for fundamental discoveries is for practical applications to follow later, once the discovery has been explored further, at which point they become the basis for social change and new technologies.
So I believe one day we will find out the complete story of the Creation of Universe until then just wait and watch and if you want to then act.
