It’s been rumored for quite a while, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson even teasing it himself, but today it is confirmed. The Rock is going to be Black Adam.

This confirmation causes lots of different feelings. First I’m excited that we are going to get Black Adam in a movie, which means we will be having Shazam in a movie. Those two things get my geek heart beating. Second, Johnson’s casting could be a thing of genius or a disaster. I can totally see him having a blast as a villain and am happier with him being Black Adam than I would be if he was cast as Shazam. However, I wouldn’t say I have much confidence in DC/WB to do the character justice. I want them to prove me wrong and make me like DC movies again.
With all that being said, I am looking forward to seeing him in costume and finding out more about how they plan to use the character. Now bring on the Shazam casting news!
