The Ritz-Carlton Sanya has a very diverse collection of room for their guests to choose from, and it can be a puzzle when you first look at their collection, it’s important to think really how can your room choice be of added benefit to you stay. Our first visit to Hainan at the end of October was just full of surprises and most of them were attributed to The Ritz-Carlton Sanya housekeeping and guest relations team.

We had reserved a guest room category Deluxe Ocean View Club Floor, an over-sized guestroom of 60 square meters that just opens up to the Yalong Bay from your large balcony, a balcony that offers a wonderful view of the morning sunrise and fronting a 500-metre long white sand beach and the clear blue South China Sea.
During the first day I found three beneficial experiences to this room category, 1) The bed a King size is a Simmons bed specially manufactured for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in China, a mattress that has just the right firmness and gives a great night’s sleep, 2) Black out curtains that operate automatically from the bed side console and when fully closed have no gaps so your room is dark and peaceful, 3) A deep bath tub, one where your arms rest up on side the one as your shoulders sink into the water, using bathroom amenities from the luxury house of Aspery of London.

Frequent travelers have all seen amenities across a variety of guest rooms, the ones that really caught my attention in the room initially were the toothbrushes. 1) Two brushes as per usual but at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya one a gray color and the second a clear tone, a thoughtful touch as most hotels have two bushes the same color, so if both guest need a toothbrush you have to keep them at opposite side of the sink, also the bristle was of medium strength, rather than the hard rough bristle that can just tear into your gums. 2) A small mosquito replant spray in the bedside table, in case you are enjoying the evening sun on your balcony or walking around the resort 3) Sockets at the desk configured to take any type of pug for your laptop to tablet from anywhere around the world.

There is a very creative team of guest relations headed by Sabrina whose key activities really are involved in adding experiences and surprises to the guests. Upon arrival to our room, there was a decoration of two swans sitting on a bed of rose petals, the next day the decoration was changed to an elephant, and the third day a dog, the unique aspect of the decoration organized by Guest Relations is that all three were created out of guest towels, my favorite was the dog,

Guest relations at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya are very proactive, they review guest arrivals to look for return guest and any special requests that guest may have during their stay. Upon arrival the team engages with guests to see if there is any way in which they can make their stay more memorable. A highlight of using your guest room, is to enjoy all the moments that this corner of the world will offer, pull up the two very comfortably chairs on your balcony watch the sun come up over the horizon on a beautiful memorable Sanya, Hainan morning.
