I am all about wearing statement pieces in fun colors in the spring, dramatic bags being the statement piece for this week. Monday was more traditional and Tuesday witnessed some bohemian style. The month of April is dedicated to the Japanese Cherry Blossom, that seem to be taking over every corner of the city. It is really hard to resist the pink situation, when the trees by the streets and the side walks are laden with these Japanese beauties. I had mentioned this last week and would like to bring to your attention to it this week as well, Piperlime a sister company to Gap. Inc is going out of business end of this month, and as a going-out-of-business promotion, they are now offering an additional 40% all sales, but watch out most sales will be final. I had ordered these Aldo kicks prior to the extra 40% deal and they are my sexiest spring purchase so far. The red ones I ordered, is sold out but the black ones are still available and in all sizes. How cute are these scoop clips! At $6 a piece, these are multi-functional, both as a clip and as a scoop. Use them to air-tight any bag or as a hostess gift with other goodies. As much as my daughter loves eating these fruit leathers, which might pass for a healthy fruit snack, my greatest concern in the store-bought brands is the acids and the artificial sweeteners and colors used in making them. Sometimes and on occasions which are out of my control, I allow her to snack on these. But I would definitely love for her to understand what is healthy, and I mean in all respects. So I googled and found an instant recipe to these fruit leathers and other kids snacks recipes. Not only are these easy to make as a family, but you get to decide what and how much of what, goes in it. A win-win for all !
