The Path of Least Resistance

The Path of Least Resistance

When you resist someone or something in your life it can become your entire focus.  That is why they say what you resist persists.  It’s what you are putting all of your energy in to.  It is like being in a beautiful museum and only seeing the cobwebs in the corner, you get so attached to that one thing that you can’t see the beauty around you.

Unless you turn the resistance around.

Instead of focusing on what you don’t like, step back and look at the bigger picture.

  • Is it possible that person who is annoying you also contributes in positive ways to your life?
  • Will that upsetting situation matter six months from now?
  • Could the thing that is upsetting you be opening a door to something better?

When you give yourself perspective by looking at the balance of your life and relationships, not just the cobwebs, you may find more to appreciate than to resist.  What would happen if you focused on that?
