With a slightly bigger screen and a couple of new features, the Motorola Moto E (2015) was launched today. Let’s check out what exactly makes this phone different from the original.
The Moto E (2015) Brings a 64-bit Chipset and LTE
Like we mentioned above, this new Moto E offers a larger display – 4.5” – but its thickness and weight do not differ from its predecessor. The resolution didn’t change (960 x 540 pixels), but it is an IPS LCD one, with Gorilla Glass 3 and anti-smudge coating.
The 4G LTE version of the phone comes with a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset, clocked at 1.2GHz, and 1GB of RAM. However, the 3G model still has the old 32-bit Snapdragon 200 chipset. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, has 8GB of built-in storage (expandable), and a larger battery – 2,390mAh (the original phone sported a 1,980mAh one).
The 5-megapixel camera has been improved as well, and can now shoot 720p videos at 30fps, and there is a VGA in the front as well. The Moto E (2015) is water-resistant, and will be available in black and white. We are yet to learn whether there will be a dual-SIM version of the phone in the future.
