The British film The King's Speech has been crowned best picture at the Oscars. The King's Speech is a historical drama about King George VI, who, to overcome his stutter, is introduced to Lionel Logue, an unorthodox speech therapist. The two men become friends as they work together, and after his brother abdicates, the new king relies on Logue to help him make a radio broadcast at the beginning of World War II.
Here is rare footage and audio of King George VI speaking in public. His stammer becomes quite pronounced midway through. He's a very courageous man.
