The Killers – “Miss Atomic Bomb”

Posted on the 12 December 2012 by Audiocred @audiocred

The Killers are kicking up the dust yet again. Yesterday those lovable Las Vegas vagabonds released an official video for the single “Miss Atomic Bomb” and it is… weird. Inspired by the Nevada nuclear testing parties of the 1950′s, the video cuts between a beautiful animated flashback and a stale live action reality. While I’m not too keen on the clashing styles, the video serves as a prequel to the band’s breakthrough hit “Mr. Brightside,” bringing back Izabella Miko as the femme fatale who is caught up with the Hefner-esque Eric Roberts. Motorcycles, faded picture frames, and the desert all seem familiar but the cartooned retrospective of a pre-/post-apocalyptic Vegas feels fresh and is visually stunning.

It’s certainly no “Bones” but if you listen closely around the 3-minute mark, you may realize it’s worth replaying.
