-I've been meaning to post this "Jimmy" chart from The Wrap for a few days now. It compares the Jimmy's ratings and social stats. I've been comparing the Jimmy's a lot lately. I DVR them both and honestly, I love them both in different ways. Both of their shows are enjoyable and funny. While there are some similarities, like the suit, the tie, the monologue, the desk, the band and the sidekick, that's where it ends. My love for Jimmy Fallon isn't a sexual thing, I just really believe that if I met Jimmy Fallon in college or through friends or at a Blockbuster Video store where we both grab the last Goonies video, that we'd start joking about Bran and Data and just end up hanging out all night talking and laughing. I just feel this weird connection in our love of similar things. While I love Jimmy and think he's amazing I do know he isn't perfect. His interviewing style is a bit cheesy. He's not edgy, confrontational or tough with his guests. He never throws curveballs at anyone and he seems to love everyone and call them all "pal". He called me "pal" when he met me. I accept it all because I know that it's just Jimmy being Jimmy. Now...Jimmy Kimmel isn't musical like Jimmy Fallon and he definitely doesn't love everyone. He is actually a much more interesting interviewer. He has the ability to be confrontational and get to the tough stuff while being funny at the same time. His show is edgier, more in your face and a bit more twisted. They both offer something different. Who's your favorite Jimmy?
THE SHOWS
How I Met Your Mother I've never been a big fan of the curly fry, accidental or intentional. Apparently Marshall,Ted and Barney all agree that the dream is for one curly fry to make a surprise guest appearance in a traditional fry order. On the miraculous occasion of this occurrence, Gary Blauman, Tarran Killam from SNL, snapped up Barney's accidental fry which was cause for annihilation, but Marshall used his judging skills and concluded that Gary Blauman WOULD be a guest at the wedding because that's what the bride wanted. What we didn't know was that Gary was gay, slept with Wayne Brady, was attracted to Ted, and talked Lily out of the other half of a butterfly tattoo we didn't know she had. We heard the Gary Blauman story for the first time along with Mom who heard it falling for Ted on their first date/walk after the wedding when they couldn't get in to the Scottish Mexican Fusion place near her apartment. For the record, I did Google it and there isn't one in NYC that I can find, just in case you're interested in a haggis enchilada. Future Ted did fill us all in on where some past characters end up in the future. They are as follows:
Carl's still behind the bar at McLarens Janette and Kevin ended up together and are living in Poughkeepsie I think Ranjeet made it big in the stock market, bought the limo company and now has his own driver named Bitterman (10 point bonus reference) Patrice is doing a drive time radio show William Zabka won a poetry award Zoey's still an activist Scooter's married to a Lily look-a-like named Jasmine Glitz gave up gambling and survived a plane crash but was Lost on a deserted island Blah Blah's name was Carol Sandy Rivers is on the air and offending Russians and James got back with Tom who's the Queer Eye For the Straight Guy guy But more important than all of that...Mom and Ted kissed...I think it was their first kiss, but not 100% sure since I don't know what happened at the wedding...yet. Only 2 more episodes and 1 slap left people. I'm going to miss these guys. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion-PART 1 What was up with Brandi's nose? Was it new? NewER? When you edit all of the Kim stuff into a 60 second clip, she ends up looking kookier than ever. When you edit all of the Brandi/Joyce stuff together Brandi ends up looking meaner than ever. All the edits in the world try to make Lisa look bad and yet through it all, I still love her. Joyce's comment about Brandi making out with an old guy with her tampon hanging out made me gag. I used to really enjoy Brandi, but she's really a hot mess who I've come to dislike quite a bit. I was really hoping that Kim, Kingsley and Jimmy MacNichol had gotten together, but so far that reality shows not in production. Nothing super crazy in PART 1 of the reunion, but we still have 2 more parts to go. I'm betting crazy comes... Dallas
John Ross sure got a lot done on his wedding day. Sure he was a little late to say his vows, but he was able to have sex with his wife-to-be, tell off his mistress, have a meeting with his mistresses father who was in need of a file, made up with his mistress, got the file (but got set up for some incriminating photos in the process) got a disk of the railroad commission involved in bizarre naked puppy party, got back to the wedding, got slapped by his mother-in-law, got blackmailed by his drunk mother, blackmailed her back, pissed off his sober uncle and still married the woman he's already married to and had sex with her again before passing out for the night. Pretty busy guy, guess he's got no time for Dancing with the Stars, huh? Emma was the only one alone who ended the evening alone. Christopher was literally rolling in the hay with his new waitress friend, Elena was with Joaquin and Sue Ellen's cuddled up with her flask. Ryland's Mom, Angela Bauer's not just a mean lunatic, apparently she's also a big time Dallas madam. Who knew? 10 points if you know John Ross's drink of choice.THE OTHER STUFF
-Not that I would ever watch American Horror Story because it's SOOOO scary, but next season's going to take place at a carnival which means clowns. I HATE CLOWNS! That automatically means even creepier and even scarier commercials for the show. I am already nervous about seeing them during the final season of Sons of Anarchy and having nightmares.
-Who's watching Banshee? Should I go back and give that one another shot? I didn't love it at all but I only gave it 2 episodes. Did I give up too fast?
-ABC Family renewed Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy for one more season now Anthony Russo needs a show and Nick can breathe a huge sigh of relief. (Get the reference?)
-We all LOVED Sharknado and can't wait for the sequel this Summer, but in the mean time, Syfy's got a new movie coming our way in April called Big Ass Spider. I bet it's awesome. I'll remind you all again when it gets closer.
Tuesday's Trivia Question: Derek Shepherd and Ronald Miller...name the actor.
