The Impulse Purchase by Veronica Henry

Ever bought anything on impulse? Some shoes, a plant, a pub?!?

Impulse Purchase – the blurb

CherryMaggie and Rose are mother, daughter and granddaughter, each with their own hopes, dreams and even sorrows. They have always been close, so when, in a moment of impulse, Cherry buys a gorgeous but rundown pub in the village she grew up in, it soon becomes a family affair.
All three women uproot themselves and move to Rushbrook, deep in the heart of Somerset, to take over The Swan and restore it to its former glory. Cherry is at the helm, Maggie is in charge of the kitchen, and Rose tends the picturesque garden that leads down to the river.
Before long, the locals are delighted to find the beating heart of the village is back, bringing all kinds of surprises through the door.
Could Cherry’s impulse purchase change all their lives – and bring everyone the happiness they’re searching for?

Nipping down the local

Imagine a perfect little country pub, you’re sat in its large beer garden with a cheese board and ice cubes tinkling in your G&T. If that’s up your street then The Impulse Purchase totally will be. Oozing with good food and interior design I enjoyed the pub’s transformation and totally wanted to visit. I did struggle at times to immediately remember who was who with the periphery characters and was very confused initially between the three leads and how they could all be old enough to be adults. But to be fair I still struggle to believe anyone born after the 90s is yet out of double figures. Of course you knew the ending was going to be a happy one but in a pub as perfect as The Three Swans it just had to be. Anyone fancy joining me for their pub quiz complete with tasting board and half bottle of wine?
