The recent issue with Intersex getting a X on their passport in Australia. It’s good for those who are ACTUAL medically diagnosed born Intersex people, but then again, I see major flaws and problems with Intersex getting a X on their Australian Passport and their so called sex discrimination bill. First of which, Transgender people will try to circumvent the law to suit themselves. The other is where they will try and pretend to be Intersex in order to claim that X on the passport. I also see many trans will try and abuse the law that is meant for Actual born Intersex people.
What their trying to do in Australia is very nice for Intersex people, but then again, I see the unintended consequence of the law being abused by transgender people. I can see Trans people misusing the law that is meant for Intersex people being used for them. One of them is that their is no clear set medical guidelines on what is defined as intersex and trans. That’s because their are some trans, notably Zoe Allen Brain who have been known to fake an intersex condition and pretend to have every kind of intersex condition under the sun. It’s why if they included a gatekeeper such has having a verified DNA karyotype test and a notarized signed medical document by a medical doctor attesting to their Intersex condition, then they can apply for class protection. Which would weed out all the intersex wannabes, intersex pretenders and transgender people.
My opinion, intersex people in Australia have a long way to go, and it’s nowhere near the level that Intersex people in America have. Intersex people in America compared to Australia are protected by the American‘s with Disability Act and under the American’s with Disability Act, it explicitly excludes Transgender people and it includes Intersex people. It’s a start for Intersex people in Australia, but they should explicitly exclude Trans from the sex discrimination bill because it would conflate sex with gender and Intersex people with Transgender people. The Bill in Australia needs to be Intersex specific and have a clearly set medical defined criteria.
