I bought a new camera and what happens?
I took some pictures of my 6 pack.
Which is really pretty much a 1 pack.
Which is basically a soda…
In all seriousness though. I need to take a minute at look at these pictures. I’m doing an awesome job!
I’ve dropped 15 pounds. I feel great. I’m running faster (crazy-sauce fast!!!). All my pants fit better. I’m pretty much rockin’ it!
You guys are such a big part of all my success. I couldn’t do it without all the great ideas, sweet comments, and encouraging words. You all get me through the day! Thanks guys.
Fitness
I got home from work a little later than normal today, 4:30. Which means it’s Gym Rush Hour! There is nothing I hate MORE than Gym Rush Hour.
So I tweeted asking if I should do an at-home workout or hit the gym after dinner. I played with my camera and exploited my “soda” then I said
I know the answer, just get my damn workout done!
So I did this Tae Bo DVD. Which let me tell you… I’ve never actually done it to the end. I don’t know how the darn thing ends because its. so. hard!
I did the video until my DVD player said 55 minutes and I gave up and finished with a 2 mile run. Pickin’ up my streak right where I left off.
Dinner
A trip to Trader Joes was made and I had to make something using this…
So I got to simmerin’ some basmati rice. Basmati rice is a long grain white rice, so it’s a complex carbohydrate. So much better for me and part of my daily healthy guidelines. I love checkin’ those puppies off the list.
I made 1/4 cup rice with 1/2 cup water and 1 tsp evoo. (healthy fats, booyeah!)
Then I got to choppin’.
While my rice simmered for 15 minutes I chopped up:
- 1 small orange bell pepper
- 6 button mushrooms
- about 10 green beans
- what was left of my snap peas
- 1/2 a yellow onion
- 1 large carrot
Then I got to stir fryin’.
I heated about 2 TBSP of evoo then I crushed 1 clove of garlic and stirred it in the hot oil for about a minute. Then I added all the veggies. I stir fried until the onions looked cooked.
I stirred in 1 serving of the simmer sauce and voila… dinner is served!
I’m drinking some of the white wine from the 2 night’s ago spicy shrimp recipe.
Easiest, most delicious & nutritious dinner EVER!
The sauce was really tasty. I could really taste the coconut and I think some basil. Ohh, I was in flavor heaven.
All these pictures were taken with my new camera. It’s straight out of the box and I haven’t read the manual yet. I’m using the basic setting (except I turned on the macro for a few shots, super easy and self explanatory).
I really recommend this point and shoot. Plus it’s on sale on Amazon!!! It’s a Nikon Coolpix P310.
