For the very first time and after 15 years of effort from the J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), Craig Venter and his team have managed to create a living cell which the genetic material is totally synthetic. It has been constructed using the four known chemical nucleotides (A, G, C and T) and a synthetizer. Until today, it was only possible to decode a genome and to transform it to a computer language, now it is finally possible to to the opposite.
