Fashion Magazine
Among the stunning pageantry of fashion that is Paris Fashion Week came a quiet, undestated collection from Hermès. Christophe Lemaire, the genius behind this French luxury brand, showcased a series of looks subtlely inspired by 1950s Alfred Hitchcock. Note the avaiator-esque sweeping wool capes, power suits, and crocodile doctor bags.
The palette was also an interesting choice, with only one or two looks showing a pop of color. Instead navy blues, olive greens, and monochrome black/whites looked so strong in Hermès' textiles of wool, fur, and leather. In fact, if I'm completely honest, I'd didn't miss that ubiquitous pop one bit.
The collection and its accompanying show just looked utterly luxurious and simple. As one onlooker said, "At last, pure French chic."
