The Face Behind the Blog

By Katieemay @katieemay1
It can be very easy when your a blogger to hide and try and write what you think people want to read. In reality, the way to have a 'good blog' and get readership is to be genuine and yourself. At the end of the day, people will see through the bullshit. Some of my favorite posts to read on people's blogs are one's where they write random facts about themselves and you get to know the blogger more; it's the nosy gene within me! When I was scrolling through tumblr, I came across this great 'get to know me' post questions which I thought I would write.

If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
I have the urge to say some random celebrity who I'm in love with for this but in truth, I would love to meet Stephen Fry because he is such a knowledgeable man who would be so interesting to have a conversation with.
Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.
"so much inferior.  'Is he not rich enough to keep the estate in good" Wuthering Heights; it's one of my books for A2 english which I'm in the process of reading when I can't sleep at night hence why it's lying so close to me at the moment.
What do you think about most?
I think about a lot of stuff from deep shit like what was there before time (which freaks me out because I cannot wrap my head round it) to things like 'I'm really hungry but can't be bothered to move'. I often think about my health too because I haven't been well and I'm a hypochondriac so I think I'm dying at least once a week because I have a headache...
Ever had a poem or song written about you?
As far as I know, I haven't had a song or poem written about me however I was part of the inspiration for a book one of my friends mums wrote. It's a fairytale type story called Templeton's Tale and our nursery group inspired her to write it from when we played princes and princesses.

Do you have any strange phobias?
I get scared quite easily but I don't think any of them are very strange. Silly, yes, like scared of lifts and clowns but I don't have any strange ones...at least I don't think I do.

How do you vent your anger?
I keep it bottled up for a bit and then I'll throw stuff in the privacy of my own home and/or burst into tears because I can't cope with it anymore
Do you tend to hold grudges against people who have done you wrong?
I was having a conversation with one of my friends about this and I hadn't even realised how much of a grudge I hold against people. I don't think it's healthy that I hold grudges for so long. No joke, I still hate people for things they did to me over 10 years ago! The thing is, I keep it to myself and, in some cases, pretend to be nice whilst I slag them off to myself because I can't stand them so much. That isn't true all the time...most of the time I just ignore those I hold grudges against.
What's a sound you hate; sound you love?
I hate the sound of a knife and fork cutting spaghetti; it goes right through me. I love the sound of the river on a summers day when I'm on the dog walk and you can hear people laughing and enjoying the sun and everything sounds happy. I also love the sound of when you're walking through a city and you can hear lots of different conversations side by side.
What's your religion?
I don't know. I'm christened a catholic however I never got confirmed and I don't think I believe in 'god' however I do believe that there’s something bigger than us all, a force that cannot be reckoned with.
If you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
Walking Arthur, my dog, going in search of food or going shopping

Simple but extremely complex. Favorite band?
This is too hard! McFly have been my favorite band since I was 6 so they're in the list but I love the band R5 and then there are the classics like The Beatles who I adore. Then there's new bands like Bastille and Imagine Dragons who are fantastic and who can forget my beloved boybands who I can't help but love even if they are shit. Some day's I think it would be easier to say which bands I don't like!
What was the last lie you told?
hmm...my mom asked me if I ate all the kinder chocolate bars. I said I hadn't but I did and she found out because she went to check. I think she learnt her lesson...don't leave packets of chocolate bars in random draws when I'm home alone and looking for the paper to put in the printer! Honestly woman!
Who is your celebrity crush?
Where do I even begin on this; there are so many. Harry Styles, Liam Hemsworth, Ross Lynch, Darren Criss, Robert Sheenan, Tom Felton...need I go on?
Stick your right arm out; what do you touch first? Do the same with your left arm.
Right arm, an empty bottle of water on my bedside table. Left arm a wall.
What was the last movie you saw?
The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Controversial opinion; it could've done with editing down. I sat in a cinema for three hours and literally all that happened was that they walked through a forest and just as all shit was about to break loose, it ended.
What is your astrological sign?
Leo the Lion
What's the last thing you purchased?
John Freda styling spray
What's a song that always makes you happy when you hear it?
Olly Murs' Please don't let me go because a few years ago when his album had just come out I was on holiday and all my music, on the first day of a 2 week holiday, was deleted of my iPod for some reason and I only had that album along with Glee: The Music of the Warblers and I thought it would drive me crazy but it was a really good holiday and that song holds a lot of good memories with it.
Basic question; what's your favorite colour?
Purple
What is your current desktop picture?

You accidentally eat some radioactive vegetables. They were good, and what's even cooler is that they endow you with the super-power of your choice! What is that power?
Teleportation because then you could go anywhere instantly and you wouldn't get stuck in traffic
Where is your best friend?
I have 5 best friends and all of them apart from 1 are in their homes (I assume) at the moment and one of them is on holiday. I don't stalk them though so I can't give you exact geographical pin points :)
What were you doing last night at 12 AM?
Reading Wuthering Heights because I couldn't sleep. Life and soul of the party right here!
You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go?
New York because I have always wanted to go there and see the sights and take in a Broadway show and see some concerts and try coffee and bagles and see where they filmed Gossip Girl
I hope you all liked this post; I really enjoyed doing it! What are your answers to these questions?
