Hispanics will nearly triple their numbers by 2050, meaning that nearly one in three people will be hispanic. Texas, a Republican bastion, could turn blue if Republicans don’t adjust their stance on immigration. Losing Texas would effectively eliminate any chance of a Republican winning the presidency.
