Depression is not just something that you can pull yourself out of no matter how hard you try. If you are a victim of depression then the effects of depression can wreak havoc in your life. If left untreated the effects of depression become more and more unbearable until you are verging on the edge of a mental breakdown. Living with depression is difficult and it can become too hard to fight depression .

Everything from your mood, your thoughts, your behavior and even you’re eating and sleep patterns are altered thanks to this horrid illness. Yes depression is a mental illness and as with any illness it requires medical attention.

The effects of depression are not healthy, as well as ruining relationships, destroying a person’s confidence it leaves your body exhausted.You looseinterest in all your normal enjoyable activities and shut yourself away from the outside world.  It effects your eating habits and your sleep patters. I have yet to find anything healthy about this illness.

Depression is a disability in the fact that it can prevent you from living a normal life. It can interfere with work commitments and relationships can breakdown if left untreated.The effect depression has on your body is frightening.

Depression causes suicide and puts you at a risk of addictions such as drug and alcohol abuse.

More than 80% of people with clinical depression can be successfully treated with early recognition, intervention, and support.

Depression affects almost 19 million people each year, including a large portion of the working population. People with untreated depression can usually get to work. But once there, they may be irritable, fatigued, and have difficulty concentrating. Untreated depression makes it difficult for employees to work well.

Not only does this mental illness make your mental health unhealthy it affects your physical health too.
