The Doctor is coming back to mobile gaming!

The BBC is going to be releasing a free-to-play game called Doctor Who: Legacy to help celebrate Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary.  No set release date has been announced, however the game itself is expected to be released “soon” and these two images have been released on the game’s official Twitter page.

The game itself is being developed by Tiny Rebel Games and Seed Studios, for iOS and Android.

The announcement of the new game also marks the cancellation of the previously planned sequels to last year’s Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, as the developer; Supermassive Games, has moved onto other projects.

No additional information for Doctor Who: Legacy has been released yet, but with less than two weeks from the airing of the 50th Anniversary Special; The Day of the Doctor, and the above image showing the Doctor’s Tomb on Trenzalore, we’ll likely be hearing news sooner rather than later.
