THE CROW: PESTILENCE #3 Review

Posted on the 06 May 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

Holy bloody hell! If you thought Eric Draven was out for a vengeance, then you thought wrong. In The Crow Pestilence #3, we see how Salvador is taking his family’s murder.

Check out my review on The Crow: Pestilence #2 here.

We ended the last book with Salvador dragging one of the gang members away. Now we see what he did to him.  DAMN! That’s all I have to say about that.  The SDC gang is still trying to track down this mystery man who keeps wiping out all their members.  During a drug exchange that gets a little ethic to say the least, Salvador decides to rain on everyone’s parade by showing up.  As I mentioned in the previous review, this book is not for kiddies or the squeamish.  There is some blood that gets splattered around.  Salvador comes out of a vehicle and just gets shot to hell.  Oxy Joe gets shot through the hand which reminded me of the scene in the original Crow movie where Draven gets shot in the hand by Fun Boy.  Bullets can’t keep someone with the power and abilities that Salvador has down.  More hell gets unleashed.  In comparison with the movie, which this book is NOT based on, this last major scene reminds me of the big shootout above the night club around the long table….only bloodier.  Something happens here that I didn’t expect.  Salvador has to fight something that is not like anything else he has fought before. During this fight, the crow (the actual bird) gets his wing clipped…literally.  As we know, an injured bird is an injured man.  Salvador is feeling some of the effect of getting shot to hell.  Salvador is scooped up and en route to be taken to Lou from the SDC. Flesh Dog receives a call and is taken a bit back from what he learns…and for good reason.

A lot has happened in the single chapter and I was a bit curious of why so much went down. It wasn’t until I went back and looked over the book when I noticed the last 3 word on the bottom of the last page.  I mistook it for To Be Continued when in fact it said To Be Concluded.  I was unaware that this series was only going to be a 4 part series.  Maybe I’m wrong but I am not sure where this will go from here.  I have a good feeling that the last chapter will be something above the rest but I was hoping for more.  I hope I am wrong as I was liking this story line.  Nonetheless, this was a good read and I am curious to see the spin on what will happen between Salvador and the SDC gang.
