THE CROW PESTILENCE #2 Review

Posted on the 15 April 2014 by Geekasms @geekasms

We pick up right were we left off in the debut of The Crow Pestilence #1. Issue 2 is just filled with action and rage. Salvador is on the hunt to seek revenge on the SDC gang for killing his wife and child…and him!

This is one of those books that make you cringe and say “DAMN!!”  Salvador is coming for blood and he means it.  We start off with one of the SDC gang members looking over the first victim of Salvador’s.  Salvador hops a train on the hunt for Mange Hound and takes out so many criminals and thugs on the way.  It is displayed very well on the page to where you can almost feel the pain from both the receiving end of Salvador’s attacks as well as his emotional pain.  The part with the boiling water gave me goose bumps.  He can’t be stopped!

It was interesting to see the interactions from The Crow and Salvador in this book.  As a man who has just lost everything, he gains his guidance and strength from the bird that brought him back to life.  This year being the 20th anniversary of The Crow movie and actually the 25th of the original comic, this series fits right into the feel of the original with a nice adaptation on the original character.  It is a book for mature readers (lots of “language” and bloody stuff) so be forewarned.  No I wait anxiously for issue 3 to see what happens.
