THE CROW: PESTILENCE #1 Review

“It can’t rain all the time.”

That quote from the first Crow movie will be forever etched into my mind. Such a great movie. Such an iconic character. In The Crow: Pestilential #1, we get a similar character with the same motives.

Instead of the musician, we get a boxer. He was set to throw the fight to make some cash but Salvador had a different plan. Win the fight and take off. This story started to remind me a bit of Pulp Fiction, except without the watch on the kangaroo. Here you get the back story of Salvador and what happened to make him become The Crow. If you have seen the original movie, you can get the premise of this books. It is a bit different but with some similarities. With a #1 book, there needs to be some groundwork laid out so the story can progress. Since I was a fan of the movie series, I can see this series being interesting. His look portrayed by the artist makes him look tough. The Mohawk with the ponytail and tattoos make him look like a warrior out for battle. I will definitely be checking out the upcoming books in this series to see if it lives up to my love of the movie.
