Since 2011, Borjana Jelic Radovic – or B, as her friends like to call her – has been keeping her personal fashion and lifestyle blog, Beeswonderland, where she shares her sartorial choices, shopping inspiration and everything else that inspires her in between. Her blog began as a part of a new life started the moment she left her career as a lawyer in hometown Bosnia to move to Vienna. Borjana has come a long way, earning a loyal following and the respect of mega fashion brands, which today are frequent collaborators of her. Read on as Borjana answers first our questionnaire on how to start and run a successful fashion blog!

What inspired you to start your own blog?

After years of following blogs and moving to Vienna from Bosnia, I clicked “Publish” on my first post. I wanted to share my passion with people who I share the same thinking with, and fight my fear of being judged by strangers – it was one of the best decisions I made.

How important is the name of the blog?

Mine described perfectly the situation I was experiencing after moving, the start of my new life and starting my blog. My nickname is B and I felt like in Wonderland, so Beeswonderland just popped in my head.

How difficult is it to find a blog niche?

I am always going with my gut, and post what I would like to read on other blogs – daily outfits, shopping tips, inspiration and food. This is who I am, and I am never going to pretend I am someone else just to gain few followers.

What is the best way to promote and grow your blog?

Social media, for sure! Instagram, instagram and instagram.

How important is it for your business to attend fashion week?

It is a perfect way to get noticed. One street style shot can change everything; we have witnessed that few times.

What are the best tips for building long-term relationships and partnerships with brands?

Honesty. I work only with brands I would usually buy and wear. I think readers can easily feel when you are wearing something just because it is free or you want to earn a few bucks.

What is the biggest challenge about running a blog?

Make time. I have always been organized but I have mastered multitasking these past few years! It is hard to have a social life and push the off button when you are with your family and friends, so I am still working on that.

What advice would give to anyone looking to start a blog today?

Be yourself and have fun. Do not take fashion so seriously!

What are your ultimate plans for your blog/blogging career?

We all want to be editors in large! I want to have fun, inspire others to be themselves no matter what and leave a mark. Everything else that follows will be just a bonus.
