I mean how good is that title? Come book club The Boyband Murder Mystery…
Boyband Murder – the blurb
‘I have long believed that loving a boyband brings with it a wealth of transferable skills, but I’d never imagined solving a murder would be one of them…’
Harri and her best friends worship Half Light – an internationally famous boyband.
When frontman Frankie is arrested on suspicion of murdering his oldest friend Evan, Harri feels like her world’s about to fall apart.
But quickly she realises that she – and all the other Half Light superfans out there – know and understand much more about these boys than any detective ever could.
Now she’s rallying a fangirl army to prove Frankie’s innocence – and to show the world that you should never underestimate a teenage girl with a passion…
I’m a fan
My room was full of Take That posters. I knew every lyric, every star sign and middle name. We’ve all been there, fallen in love with a boyband, fancied the lead singer. But in my day (yep I went THERE) there was no internet to provide the info, no mobiles to have that info at your fingertips 24/7 and no WhatsApp groups to share it all on. Eldred perfectly sums up what it is like to be a superfan in today’s world. I’d go as far as saying the book is MORE about fandom than any murder. Although the title is super eye catching. If you’ve ever stared up at a poster and daydreamed this is the book for you.

- Harri didn’t get the job at Pure as she was a fan. Was this the right decision? Are fans not the best people to be working for a band?
- What did you think of the book as a murder mystery? Did it keep you guessing?
