On November 17, 2011, I posted an article about myself being vivaciously ready to attend the Blogfest Soccsksargen 2.0. The said event happened on the 26th of the same month, being situated on the other side of the island of Mindanao we started our travel at the dawn of November 25, 2011. Along with me are the co-equally eager members of the Iligan Bloggers Society, Inc., whom two of the society members are nominated in the Philippine Blog Awards for Mindanao. Pinay Travelista of Lisa Marie Mirasol got nominated for Best Travel Blog, while Adventures in Life of Revilla Carbonell-Noel got nominated for Best Personal Blog. The Blogfest took place during the day, while the awarding took place at night. How exciting it was for me and the other members of IBS Inc., I would say that the event was a neck cramping and jaw locking experience.
I am so glad that the event started on time and it is well attended. With regards to the things I learned from the event. Of course, I am doing a separate post that will tackle them one by one.
Gensan Mayor: Ms. Darlene Antonino Custodio
Philippine Blog Awards for Mindanao. Though, my nominated friends didn't won the awards, it did not prevented us to enjoy the night. Who will not enjoy for that night? For me the dinner is perfect, while being serenaded to one of my favorite song performed live by a female singer "Stand Up for Love"...and oh the singer is unbelievably great. Though I don't know her name, she really deserved a booming applause! It was my first time also to taste wasabe! Grrr! Now, I know I don't like the taste of it ^^ but I am really glad to have a taste of it.Gensan Tour. Whew! It was really a very big surprise for me. All I know is that, we are set to visit Gensan Fish Port only. But, look! where the the organizer brought us!
We actually had breakfast at the Paradise of Gensan---the Sarangani Highlands. While at the site, all I did is point and click my camera at every breath-taking view and display of beauty that my eyes laid on. Plants are everywhere, with the freshest air you can breath for free. Clean restrooms and accommodating owner and staff. I will truly go back and stay at one of the rooms in this resort.
After the unforgettable breakfast, we proceeded to Sweet Valley where we bought our "pasalubong" for our family left at home. As usual everyone are doing a panic buying :) Well, not everyday we can shop these things back home. It was really a valley full of dried sweets. From dried mango sweets, pineapple, papaya and etc. I bet everyone enjoyed shopping.
After our shopping galore at Sweet Valley, the group decided to dropped by the beautiful Mansion of the Pound for Pound Boxer Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. Though it was not part of the tour, the Iligan Bloggers decided to visit the place for this is a one chance for us. Pacquiao really has a taste when it comes to house design. Special thanks to "Bobby" who serve as our tour guide during this part of the travel.
After accomplishing what we really came for, we are ready to set home. Everyone settled in our respective seats provided by the Iligan City Tourism Office. Thank You!
