"The Top Taxpayers of Iligan"


The Local Government Units (LGU) of Iligan acknowledged the revenue contribution of the ten (10) companies/ trade names in the city during the 6th Iligan Business Night, held at Zoey Cafe Function Hall, Pala-o, Iligan City on October 30, 2013. During the recognition ceremony, Melchor Alquizola the Chief of Staff representing the newly elected Mayor of Iligan City Mayor Celso Regencia, stressed out the importance of the contribution of the business sector to the development of the city. “The tax paid by the businessmen serves as the bloodline of the government; therefore the government cannot deliver its function if the business sector will not support by paying its taxes," he said noting the importance of the tax paid by the businessmen in the city. The City government is grateful and even thankful for your contribution,” Alquisola thankfully added. 
Further, in his short speech, he made a favorable promise statement about forging a partnership between the government and the business sector in further developing the potential industries in Iligan City. He further noted that, Iligan City does not need other investors to invest, especially foreign investors to invest in Iligan, because Iligan City has its local investors who are thriving throughout the years. Meanwhile, he also mention about the needed reform on the local bureaucracy of Iligan to further boost its potential and one move towards achieving it is by instituting a new City Police Director who was present on the said event. 
Later that evening, the new instituted City Police Director Sr. Supt. Gerardo Rosales in his speech, vowed to work hand in hand with the business sector, making sure that the business atmosphere of Iligan safe and sound. "Security, peace and order are not the sole concern of the military and police alone, it is the concern of everyone; therefore I encourage the business sector to raise comments and suggestions in our performance to help us serve you better," he added recognizing the importance of feedback in improving the police performance in delivering their duties. Also gracing the event is the City Vice Mayor Ruderic C. Marzo and Councilor Frederick Siao.

PHILMICO Foods Corporation in the Manufacturing category. PLDT Maratel in the Transport Storage and Communication Category. Lian Hong Co. Inc., in the Wholesale, Retail Category JJ Horizon Co. Inc. in the Mining and Quarrying Category. 4K Development Corporation in the Real Estate, Renting and Business Activities category.

The 6th Iligan Business Night is a culmination program, a celebration of success of he month-long Business Month Celebration with the theme "Gear up for a More Competitive Iligan," spearheaded by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan Inc. It also recognizes the contribution of the partner entities namely: The Iligan Bloggers Society Inc., which spearheaded the Social Media for Small Businesses: Utilizing Social Media to Boost Your Business Seminar held at the Function Room of the Iligan Chamber Office on October 22, 2013, The Philippines Institute of Certified Public Accountant - Iligan Chapter who spearheaded the "Accounting for the Non-Accountant Seminar held at the Celadon Pension Hse, Pala-o, Iligan City on October 23, 2013, The Iligan Hotel and Restaurant Association in spearheading the Laag-Laag sa Iligan on October 20, 2013.
