Lufthansa!
“Being a pristine customer of Lufthansa since the beginning- they offered me a chance which I never ever thought of in my life.
It all happened on a cold November morning. I was packing my travel bag and was leaving my house. Duty had called again. I had to go to Germany this time. Well, I placed my bags in the taxi’s boot and the journey began. I was sad. I always became sad when leaving my own country.
I reached the airport two hours earlier before the departure of my flight. When I had completed all the necessities, I went to the waiting lounge and sat there- pondering on how to spend the time I was left with.
It was then two people entered the lounge. They were wearing the staff uniform of the company of the flight in which I was supposed to travel. A thought of dread struck my mind: “What if they said my ticket was void?”
Well, it was nothing like that. They came towards me and asked me whether I would like to take a tour of the latest addition of an A380 in the Indian aviation fleet. Well, I definitely was excited. Upon asking why I was the only one getting this opportunity, they replied that I had been traveling with their airline since the past 5 years. That made me even happier!
Then we went on towards the plane. They were saying it was just around the corner- and it was, literally. The size of the plane took my breath away. I guess they were not kidding when they said this plane can hold thrice the number of passengers of a single flight.
The prospect of looking at the plane made me go into the positives this plane would bring for India. I got some points for that. This seems like the plane India needs. Hope they get a fleet of it. The points I made shocked me too:
- This plane holds a number of opportunities for our country. The prices of tickets would drop monumentally, as a large number of people will be allowed in one plane.
- The airports of our country will develop a bit to accommodate this plane- as every state would be vying to have this.
- As millions of people prefer to travel through airplanes in our country: this would be like a golden opportunity for the companies to get more people to travel through their airplanes.
- India being a high population country, well, the less number of planes will be required to fulfill the demands of regular use.
- In all, flight delays will become less, as there will be less number of planes which can carry more number of people.
- And, the only thing which people may feel will go into the negative aspect is that if this plane crashes: it will be thrice the loss of life. Well, I would like to state that it’s highly irregular for a flight to crash: so be at peace, everything in this world has a risk attached to it. And this risk is definitely worth it.
The tour of the A380 moved me. It was so huge that I felt I could play a football match in there! Well, I thank the staff and members of the faculty to give me a tour of that majestic flight. Today, I really got to know the meaning of: Why bigger is better for Indian Aviation. It is the future for the whole world. Even our small but culturally beautiful country. Well, they have announced that my flight’s boarding has begun. So, I have to dash off from here. Kudos for being with me!”
- A work of fiction with the points being real.
