The Big Bang Theory 5x03: The Pulled Groin Extrapolation

Original Air Date: 29 September 2011

Storyline: Leonard and Amy learn a lot about each other when he goes as her "plus one" to a wedding. Howard and Bernadette spend the weekend with his mother, as a test run, after he tells her he wants them to live at his house after they get married.Best Quote:

Bernadette: I'm not going to live with your mother. Not now. Not ever.
Howard: Somebody, obviously, has some mommy issues.

Review: The episode was a lot of fun, though it left Sheldon out of it most of the time. He was left to play with his newly acquired toy train for the entire time, while Leonard went to a wedding as Amy's date and Bernadette tried to make the best out of living with Howard's mother. Raj was completely ignored, except for yet another gay-ish joke about Howard calling him "honey" in the past, while Penny was there mostly as Amy's confidant.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the Amy/Leonard interactions. We don't see them together much so it was interesting to see how they get along without Sheldon around. I like her quirkiness, proved one again by her overstaying her welcome and by her conviction that Leonard had fallen in love with her because they had such a good time at the wedding.
Howard is starting to annoy me more than usual. His inability to leave his mother's side has been played out to a bore so I was really with Bernadette on the whole situation. I don't think they will get married, not if he insists that they should live with Mrs. Wolowitz afterwards. But having Bernie imitate her is always hilarious; unfortunately, the little Jewish boy cannot take a hint!
As for Sheldon's sudden jealousy bit, I found that out of place. He's never displayed any such feelings before and I'm not ready to accept he is a real boy after all. I like him oblivious to all things emotional, it's when he shines the most.
This show can do a lot more that this and I really hope they get back to the science humor and throw in some real geek comedy.
