The Best Sequin Tops for New Year's Eve
Phew! We made it through the big day. Christmas 2017 is in the books and now we get to move on to ringing in the New Year! You don't have to twist my arm to wear sequins. If it sparkles, I'm your girl! But I also know that I'm not going anywhere fancy for the evening. A sequin cocktail dress is not going to happen! I like my sparkle paired with comfort. I've gathered up a few of the best sequin tops I could find (and some sweatshirts if you're staying in!) plus some fab jeans and accessories to make your outfit New Year's Eve ready.
I tried to keep my picks in the more subdued tones. Nothing too bright. I love the look of matte gold and matte silver. You still get that sheen and texture but don't look like a shiny disco ball. Unfortunately, the matte silver top I'm wearing is sold out and it's sister top in matte gold is limited in sizes. But I found lots of similar options.
The sequin top is definitely the star of the show but since it's New Year's Eve, I think a little additional bling is appropriate. And a pop of colorful lipstick works too.
I love the contrast between a sparkly top and a casual, distressed pair of jeans. These are my favorite boyfriend jeans and can be worn for so many occasions. Your sequin top can easily be worn in the summer too by pairing it with a white pair of jeans. I love having separates that can transition from season to season and for lots of different occasions.
No plans to go out? You can still add some sparkle with a sequin sweatshirt or embellished tee!!! Pair your favorite leggings with a cute and comfortable sweatshirt and you're ready to drink wine and watch movies till midnight. But if you crash at 10 at least you'll look cute doing it!
