Verdict on The Beekeeper
The Beekeeper is an action movie following a retired specialist who wants to get revenge on a group of con-artists who stole someone close to him, life savings. He uses all his connections to discover who was behind it to make them pay.
This is a fresh brutal action movie following a solo killing machine taking on a massive army of threats. Each level believes they are better than the rest and he sweeps through anyone who gets in his way. There is a lot of John Wick in this story. It is someone who wants a quiet life and returns to sort out a problem. All while the older people know the threat coming their way. The people he goes after deserve what is coming to them, making it easy to support his rampage. It is genuinely distrubing seeing how happy the crew is to have conned someone out of their life savings.
Jason Statham is back to his action best after a disappointing 2023 (Expendables 4, Fast X and Meg 2). He gets to unload on anyone with a host of his combat skills. Emmy Raver-Lampman is a great supporting star, showing the conflicted FBI agent after the same answers. Josh Hutcherson does an excellent job at being someone you just want to punch, while Jeremy Iron brings some class to the chaos.
Final Thoughts – The Beekeeper is a brutal, chaotic and brilliant action movie.
