Get ready for a fear-inducing new awakening as the critically acclaimed twisted dystopian nightmare Woken arrives on UK digital on 25 May,
thanks to 101 Films.
Fresh from her brilliant turn in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, one-to-watch star Erin Kellyman takes the lead in a powerful performance
as a pregnant woman who must unravel a sinister scheme to save humanity from the brink of annihilation. She is joined by one of Britain’s
best loved actors, the acclaimed Maxine Peake, in this claustrophobic and tense genre-bending chiller from writer-director Alan Friel in his
feature debut.
After an accident, Anna (Kellyman) wakes up on a remote island with no memory of who she is, where she is or the baby she is carrying.
Unfamiliar faces gather around her bedside, including husband James (Jeremiah) and neighbours Helen (Peake) and Peter (Invernizzi), who
attempt to fill in the blanks of her fractured mind.
But all is not what it seems and when the strong-willed mother-to-be embarks on her own quest for the truth, she makes a devastating
discovery… a pandemic has ravaged most of mankind. Though the truth is out, Anna can’t escape the foreboding feeling that there’s even
darker secrets simmering under the surface and, as her paranoia heightens, she senses that the real danger is much closer to home.
Blurring the line between savior and captor, what starts off as an unnerving tale of paranoia and isolation quickly descends into a pulsepounding, post-apocalyptic story of survival as Anna’s fragmented mind attempts to piece together her past in time to save her future.
Open your eyes to Woken for an edge-of-seatsci-fi thrill-ride, full of unexpected twists and turns that will have you second guessing who can
truly be trusted.
