The Beauty Scenario Tag

By Twoplicates
You may have seen this Beauty Scenario Tag going around for quite some time, and we were recently tagged by Tasha to do this! We're really getting on the ball with these tags recently because they're pretty fun to do! This tag had some easy, straightforward questions, yet there were some that took a little more contemplation :P
1. You have to get rid of all your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore. Which do you keep? The Beauty Scenario Tag
Monica:  My high end pick would be the Perfect Refining Foundation by Shiseido. This is my only high end foundation making it the only possible winner, but I do really like it! The shade matches me perfectly, it's medium coverage, lightweight and has a matte finish :) Drugstore pick I'd go with my Super BB Powder by Physicians Formula (reviewed here). Even though its technically not a foundation, I wear it like it is so I'd go with that. It's really fuss free and seriously takes me 30 seconds to do my face.
Lin:  Don't have a high end foundation as of yet... nothing has caught my attention enough for me to splurge for it.  For drugstore, I'm going to pick the L'oreal True Match Foundation.  It coverage is buildable and feels lightweight on your skin.
2. You go to an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely? Monica: Approach it. If I was the interviewer and had lipstick on my teeth, I would definitely want someone to tell me regardless of who it was. It's one of those things that happens and I don't think it'd really jeopardise your job if you did. On another note, if I didn't tell her, the lipstick on her teeth would distract me like no tomorrow - so either way I think its best if I tell her.  Lin:  Approach the subject! Gotta help a sista out haha I usually point out something on someone if it's one of those "embarrassing" things that we all go through one time or another, so this situation would be no different :)
3. You're not feeling yourself and you need a pick me up lipstick. Which do you go for?
Monica:
I'd go for a bold true red as it's just timeless & really adds that "pop". I've been gravitating towards Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso these days as it's matte, long wearing and easy to apply.
Lin:  Natio Lip Colour in Tango  When the color is applied with a lip brush, the intensity tones down a few notches leaving me with a somewhat dark orange/red color with a semi matte finish.

4. You go back in time for a day to your teenage years; how would you do your hair and makeup differently?  Monica:  Back in the day, I had really emo hair. It had lots of layers and I'd like to tease it cos I thought it looked cool. So basically I'd stop the teasing. Make-up wise I didn't really wear much. I remember my eyeliner kinda smudged a lot giving me the classic panda eyed look - so I'd just change it up with a liquid eyeliner.  Lin:  I would probably go back to the basics and made sure I took better care of my hair.  I also never felt the "need" to moisturise my skin back in high school (don't even ask) so I would definitely be slathering that stuff on if I could go back in time :P 5. You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott cut, but they hear you wrong and give you a pixie hair cut. Do you a) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your Mum crying hysterically, b) Cry in the chair and things get awkward or c) Complain to the Manager and demand a refund?  Monica:  After googling images of Pixie Lott and pixie hair cut, I'd lock in a). I'm way too nice to complain and I think I'd still be in shock with such short hair. After it hits home and the shock is gone, I'd then 1) cry internally for days, 2) google ways to make your hair grow longer 3) google for wigs and then never to return to that hairdresser ever again.
Lin:  Out of the options above, I would pick a) as well.  In reality, I probably would've said something when the scissors were hovering around my neck area, or at least hint something to reaffirm the haircut I was going for.  If I ended up with a pixie hair cut, I just know there'd be that sinking feeling in my stomach each time I looked in the mirror and would go ahead and tell half the world about how bad of an bad experience from I had from that hairdressers to vent it all out.

6. Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which 'do it all' palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

The Beauty Scenario Tag Monica: I'd probably go with the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (reviewed here). It's super travel friendly and versatile.  Lin:  Going to be very typical and go for the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.  It's the palette I reach for the most and it'll be weird not to pack it with me.
7. Your house has been robbed (don't worry, everyone is safe) and your beauty stash has been raided. What's the product your really hope is safe? The Beauty Scenario Tag
Monica:  I don't really have anything that's limited edition or irreplaceable, so I'm just going to go with something expensive - so hopefully they don't take my perfumes. I recently got the Chloe Miniature perfumes and they are just the cutest things. Not only do they look good but I've been really enjoying the scents as well - particularly Signature & L'eau.
Lin:  Going for the pricey stuff a well, but I don't think I have a particular product in mind for this question.  Hopefully the products that I use daily are safe and sound though! 8. Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition. Do you a) Just pretend you haven't noticed, b) Ask them to repurchase it or c) Secretly do the same to something of theirs?
Monica: I'd probably drop some subtle hints over facebook and texts and do b). Assuming that they returned it in awful condition and didn't say anything about it, I'd be really pissed. I think it's just a simple common courtesy to return things the way you borrowed it. Like I went out of my way to let you borrow something of mine, so just treat it with some respect yo. If they were really were your friend, I think that they should offer to repurchase it, without you even asking.  Lin:  I'm pretty sure Monica & I have had this convo before- the common courtesy thing is a big factor. I would probably jokingly ask about what happened to it when they first hand it to me and see if I can get something out of it there.  If the makeup item was something I really liked, I would straight up and ask for them to repurchase.  If it was something that I didn't use often then I wouldn't care so much about it.
