Why being too much is exactly enough – The Audacity by Katherine Ryan.
The Audacity – the blurb
Hi, I’m TV’s Katherine Ryan. I’m known to live my life embracing the reality that you just can’t please everyone, so you might as well put yourself out there and have a laugh. As my mother always said, ‘Katherine, if we all liked the same thing, we’d all be married to your father.’ Being audacious led me to becoming the calm, contented woman I am today – who doesn’t care what strangers think of her and can always take a joke.
I’m often asked how I developed my lurid level of courage and assurance and for tips on how others can match. This is my blueprint for just that, a collection of my most relatable advice.
How To Attract Toxic Men AND Keep Them Interested!
How To Have A Baby
How To Impress Famous Celebrities
and so much more…
No matter what I do, there will always be something about me that reads as simply, outrageously audacious. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Secret fan girl
I don’t like comedy. I don’t watch ‘funny’ programmes. That’s what my husband tells me. Yet I love Taskmaster which has introduced me to some brilliant female comedians (and also writers) Rose Matafeo, Daisy May Cooper and Katherine Ryan. Having seen Ryan on Taskmaster I went on to watch the Louis Theroux episode she did and loved her ‘don’t give a f&ck attitude. I discovered she had a podcast – Telling Everybody Everything and have now listened to every episode. So when during said podcast she advised buying the paperback of her book, The Audacity I went out and did exactly that. Good job she didn’t go and tell me to drink the humongous glass of wine similar to that on the cover hey?
Ryan has lived a fascinating life and being the same age I get every cultural reference. OK so maybe not the Canadian ones but I know where she is coming from when she mentions a song, a hairstyle, a life less woke. There was humor (obviously), sadness and all round fabulousness and I devoured it all. The Sean Paul audition was probably one of my favorite moments – hilarious. See I do like comedy. All hail Katherine Ryan and her audacity!
