logo for The Sunday SalonTime: // 8:22 am.

The scene: // Sunny and cool. Pretty much the perfect spring day!

Listening to: // The cheery half of my Cheering Up playlist on Spotify. I just heard Louis Armstrong’s version of “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” and now it’s “The Bare Necessities.”

Don’t spend your time lookin’ around
For something you want that can’t be found.
When you find out you can live without it
And go along not thinkin’ about it,
I’ll tell you something true:
The bare necessities of life will come to you.

The Clockwork Universe by Edward Dolnick

The Clockwork Universe: Isaac Newton, the Royal Society, and the Birth of the Modern World

Reading: // After finally finishing Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson, I decided to read a nonfiction book on the same general topics: The Clockwork Universe: Isaac Newton, the Royal Society, and the Birth of the Modern World by Edward Dolnick. So far, a lot of it has been more about the philosophy of science than the history that I was looking for, but, given that subtitle, I’m sure we’ll get there.

Watching: // We watched the last two episodes of Bletchley Circle this week. I loved that they actually went to Bletchley Park in the last episode. That’s on the list I just made of day trips we intend to take while visiting Birmingham in the Midlands region of England.

Blogging about: // My new FitBit.

Participating in// I’ll be attending a high school graduation this week — congratulations, Alex!

What are you up to this fine Sunday?
