The Wall Street Journal reports that Amazon has obtained a patent for “anticipatory shipping.” Under the system, Amazon will use algorithms to start shipping goods somewhere before a consumer even clicks “buy.”
If an error is made, the package may be given to a customer as a goodwill gift, according to the report.
