Thanksgiving Gratitude

By Carlo @CarloAtYourServ

Thanksgiving Gratitude With much Thanksgiving gratitude, I wish you a very a wonderful day today as you enjoy the precious time that you have to spend with those near and dear to you.
Life can be really busy-crazy and sometimes we can get so caught up in our day-to-day routines, and in competing for what we want and we think we need, and not feeling good enough in our careers or family lives... that we forget how truly lucky we are. I know I can sometimes feel like; if I could just make more money, or lose more weight, my life would be perfect.
The truth is that my life is really pretty good right now, like most Americans. And, better than that, I’m exactly where I need to be. Like my girl, Danielle LaPorte, says, "Everything is progress". Y'know? We complain too much and take too many things for granted, for example -- like the fact that we're lucky that we don't have bombs going off in our backyards every time you turn around (like some of our brothers and sisters overseas are made to contend with).
So, yes... we have a lot to be thankful for; bad economy and all.
They say that happiness is not about getting what you want, but about wanting what you get. Make sense? After hearing a few days ago about a little kid who had to look for his dinner in a trash dumpster, I’m making a conscious effort to change my entire paradigm – to appreciate all that I do have in my life.
Yesterday was my birthday -- and if living to see one more year doesn't make you grateful, I don't know what does.
I'm going with the flow and have decided to enjoy getting into the spirit of the holidays today – and to acknowledge my appreciation to you, too. I am grateful for all your support over the past four years. I am grateful for your loyalty. I realize that much of what goes on with Cater-Hater wouldn't be possible without all of the readers. You guys are the reason I keep keeping on.
Please be careful coming and going, as many of you who haven't already arrived today at your holiday destinations, travel to spend the holiday with family and friends. And, have a good time as you enjoy your traditions, whether it includes football, as a player, a spectator or both.
Maybe you're planning to enjoy another popular pastime on turkey day, before you get around to gobbling up your favorite foods... like watching a parade -- which dates back to 1920, when the first organized Thanksgiving Day parade was held in Philadelphia.
As we all know, celebrating Thanksgiving is about more than just eating turkey and dressing, and watching parades and football. Although, it is estimated that is exactly what 95% of us will do today.
However you decide to spend your holiday today, be sure to take a moment of Thanksgiving gratitude to remember what it's really all about - giving thanks. I'm grateful for so many, many things. But I want you to know, whether or not I've met you in the virtual or real world, I'm very grateful for you too.
Happy Thanksgiving

*****
I do this... I write to help to create to opportunities for all of you to pursue your passion to have parties without regard to economic constraints.
I think if we keep talking about the cost of parties (I blog, you write comments), together, maybe we can break down some of the party industry price barriers and shame some of the people who've taken your money and delivered a poor quality product right into growing a conscious and treating you right (nice thought, isn't it?).
Opportunities to be inspired about parties are everywhere. Yet, people looking out for your wallet are few and far between. My goal is to inspire you, causing you to question the way things are that have been the status quo for too long. When we stand together and speak up, we can be a powerful force.
Let's keep the conversation of change going. Because in the sea of everyone talking, one voice is a whisper... several voices are a scream.
Leave a comment and share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions below. Remember to be as specific as possible because what you have to say helps us all.
I really love you guys. There, I said it.
Always... be encouraged and be encouraging to others too,
Don't be ashamed to need help. Like a soldier storming a wall, you have a mission to accomplish. And if you've been wounded and you need a comrade to pull you up? So what?” - Marcus Aurelius
