Tete-a-tete 03: Monospace

By Lesassorties @LesAssorties

Marina Bury Christellou and Myrta Mitropoulou, besides the friendship they shared since high school, were joined by a common passion for creating a platform to help take Greek design a step further in the global fashion and design arena. Combining their strong backgrounds – Marina has an Arts Marketing and Events background and has previously worked at the Saatchi Gallery, Christie’s London and Moniker Art Fair; Myrta has studied Art Direction & Styling, and has worked with several London-based designers. She is currently working as a brand ambassador for Alexander Wang and helping Greek designers grow their businesses by providing her invaluable insight – they founded MONO aspiring to communicate their vision and bring their promising project around the world.

MONO is a mobile fashion concept store that pops up in different London locations, and celebrates Greek design through curating exclusive pieces of the hottest designers right now. Each space is curated so that it reflects the character of the neighborhood it temporarily inhabits, it runs for ten days, and new locations open every three-four months; the first MONO opened in Shoreditch on March 19.

We caught up with the MONO duo to reflect on the current status of Greek fashion and their collaborations with emerging designers, and discuss their future plans.

The next MONO is coming up shortly. For more information and keeping up with MONO, visit themonospace.com.
