Technic Carnival

By Behindtheseclosedeyes @theseclosedeyes
It took me long enough to jump on the Rainbow Connection bandwagon but instead opted for the much cheaper dupe from Technic, named Carnival. As I'm not much of a glitter nail polish fan I wouldn't have forked out over £10 for Rainbow Connection from the OPI Muppets collection but decided to give this polish a try after coming across a link to the polish for just £1.25. Of course these Technic polishes are sold at Body Care for a mere 99p but after the beauty world came across this dupe it was out of the shops before you could say STEALLL, and Ebay sellers cottoned on to the vast demand and upped prices to 6 and 7 pounds a bottle. I quickly placed an order for myself and had this little beauty on its way to me with very quick delivery as always from an Amazon seller.

First of all I never quite imagined just how gorgeous this polish would look in the bottle as blog photos and swatches can never quite give you the full effect of a glitter polish, but when it had been removed from the packaged I was amazed by it. As you can see Carnival is made up of a clear polish which is jam packed with various colours, sizes and shapes of glitter, which makes a great polish as a jazzy topcoat. My swatch above shows Carnival layered over China Glaze Light as Air and Models Own Juicy Jules (yes, glitter overload!) but I just couldn't wait to try this new beauty when it arrived. Please note the holographic glitter on my nails is from Juicy Jules and not from Carnival. I'm in love with the effect this nail polish has created and will definitely be experimenting with it in the weeks to come.
The Amazon seller that I bought this from still has some bottles in stock and can be found here for a mere £1.25 (+£1.50 P&P).
