Taransay – the West Side

By Ros @scotlandphohos

Over on the West side of Taransay there’s an isthmus at Loch Uidhe. Both sides of the isthmuis have glorious sandy beaches.

The North side of the Isthmus looks towards Harris

The beach, Traigh an Siar, is completely pristine.

A little further round the coast form the beach is a large rock arch:

On the other side of the isthmus is Loch Uidhe, with a small bothy at the East end of the beach.

This is a popular bay for visiting boats anchoring.
