Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money.

I don’t know much about Eddie Money but after seeing some videos, I quickly assumed that he’s battled personal demons. A few people told me that they didn’t really like him but some of his songs were good. I also read comments on You Tube from numerous people stating, “he just isn’t what he used to be.” Well, that happens sometimes…and even more with musicians because they are expected to be who they were when their career took off.

Either way, Eddie Money fans or people who simply like this song can never deny one of his biggest hits…

Take Me Home Tonight was released as a single in August of 1986 from the album, Can’t Hold Back. It went to #4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #1 on Mainstream Rock Tracks. It also earned a Grammy nomination for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. The female vocalist in the song is Ronnie Spector, lead singer of the 60′s group, The Ronettes. Her chorus line is actually taken from The Ronette’s hit, Be My Baby.

In 2005, the rock band Hinder released a cover as part of a bonus track on their debut album, Extreme Behavior. You can listen to their version HERE.

According to song facts, the lyrics are about a guy who is trying to convince a girl to take him home with her. Kinda obvious with the title, right?

Above is the official video with Eddie & Ronnie.
