Symptoms of Oral Cancer

Cancer is the uncontrollable growth of cells that damage the rest of the cells in the body. They multiple ten-fold and can be fatal if not diagnosed sooner.

Oral cancer is when the cancer cells start developing in the lips, mouth, throat or gums. Oral cancer can be cured if it is spotted in the early stages. So be aware or learn about the symptoms of oral cancer.

Here are the symptoms of oral cancer to help you detect the signs sooner:

  • Development of red or white patches in the mouth.
  • Dramatic weight loss.
  • Unexplained bleeding in the mouth or gums.
  • Difficulty in chewing, swallowing, speaking, or moving the tongue or jaw.
  • A feeling that something is stuck at the back of your throat.
  • Swelling or thickening on the lips, tongue, throat or any other areas of the mouth.
  • Lumps or bumps in any area of the mouth.
  • Hoarseness or change in the voice.
  • Changes in the way your teeth or dentures fit together.
  • Persistent sores in the lips, mouth, and tongue, sides of the cheeks, face or neck that do not heal within 2 weeks.
  • Rough spots, crusted or eroded areas on the lips, gums or any other areas of the mouth.
  • Ear aches.
