Symptoms of Early menopause

Menopause is a condition that occurs naturally to every woman. It typically starts at the age of 45 or beyond. • A woman’s monthly menstrual cycle is regulated by the hormones and estrogen mainly. After an age of 45 the body stops producing estrogen by gradually reducing it. Here are some of the symptoms that you should look for an early onset of menopause:

  • Absence of menstrual periods is another sign of menopause. During its onset a women may not get her periods for 5 to 6 months. Sometimes she may even experience excessive bleeding or lack of blood.

  • Experiencing hot flashes during the nights is one of the classic symptoms of onset of menopause. Do you wake up with sweaty hands and feet during nights? If the answer is yes then you should visit a gynecologist to evaluate if you are entering menopause.
  • Women also experience metabolic changes during menopause. There will be a sudden weight gain or weight loss which is unexplained. These changes are brought in by loss of appetite or excessive hunger. The hunger patterns may be irregular as well.
  • Some women experience heart palpitations, stress, depression and anxiety caused due to the hormonal imbalance. All these symptoms are coinciding with several other conditions. It gets very confusing to diagnose a cause like menopause with such symptoms.
  • Anemia is also a common symptom of menopause. If you have been healthy for the most part of your life but are experiencing lack of interest and vigor or if you are tired most of the time you should get a hormone test done.

Conclusion

Menopause is a physiological condition and it is not a disease like most women think. It is similar to pregnancy where body’s hormonal balance changes.
