For those who aren’t familiar with the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo, it’s a trade show that mainly work along side salons, beauticians, therapists, apprentices, hairdressers and beauty students. So, it’s ideally aimed at them, so they can source their own products for their salons. There are also workshops by the pros, demos and competitions. In a nutshell, it’s a CRAZY busy day and probably a wise choice to wear flat shoes.
I was lucky enough to attend for a second year. I went last year, both days and although it was exhausting, I learned so much! I got to meet a few Beauty Bloggers and got up close and personal with a few salons which I later did some work with.
So, when I was invited again this year, I jumped at the chance of going again. Here a few photos (all can be found my Instagram) – Enjoy! (Warning: photo heavy.)
I’m probably the ONLY Beauty Blogger that never has my actual surname on any of media passes – maybe I should start
I drove myself to the event and of course, HAD to include my latte
The view from the second floor from when we went to see Rae Morris – amazing!

Michelle, Angie, Michaela, myself and Rose
People who attended but who didn’t get to snap a photo with were Maria (also famous for Crashing Red) and Mr. Maybelline himself Nigel Stanislaus, who just finished Fashion week the day before. (Bless!)
I would have stayed a little longer but I didn’t pack my iPhone 5 adapter for my external battery and had only 7% life left to get me home. (Priorities, right?)
Day two I decided that I was going to finally meet and hopefully snap a photo with Rae Morris. I had seen her at IMATS at least twice, I battled the torrential rain to attend her brushes launch and now seen her twice at the Spa & Beauty Expo. I don’t know why it took me so long to meet her, but I was certainly on a mission on day two.
I got to the expo a little after 11am and did a few laps on my own. I then bumped into my Lipstick Republic sister, Natalia, and did some serious spending damage at the Klara Cosmetics booth.
Since I’m on a topic of Klara Cosmetics, I have to say they were a standout brand for me. I was AMAZED by their products, especially their eyeshadows. They were as soft as butter and the color pigmentation was insane! Definitely worth looking at if you ever get a chance.
I then caught up with Michelle again, did a few more laps around taking photos and then headed home after 2pm.
Here are some photos from day two…
Started my day off with Top Juice (green apple, lemon, watermelon and cucumber)
With the fabulous Rae Morris. She said I had beautiful brows and complimented my blue glittery eyeliner.
Just kickin’ back in the media lounge. As you do!
Michelle and I then went to Lord of the Fries for lunch. A little piece of Melbourne in Sydney – LOVE!
More photos from day two is available on Instagram.
So, that was my weekend at the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo 2013. I really hope I get invited to the event again for the third year, because trade shows are always so much fun.
I got notification that the event was going to be moving from the Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour to Glebe Island next year. That would be interesting getting to and from, seeing as though not many people drive to these sort of shows. But we’ll see how it pans out next year.
Also, a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Amreeta for having me at the show. I had an amazing time!
