NEW DELHI: Indian media reported that a tourist woman of Swiss origin has been gang raped in India in Madhya Pradesh. Local police officials have confirmed the news and said that they have arrested over a dozen men in connection with this case.
According to available details a Swiss tourist couple was staying in a camp in forest near town of Orchha in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. Later in night, they were attacked by a group of 8-10 people who beaten them up and robbed all their belongings. Group also gang-raped the woman after taking hold of her husband.
Incidents of gang rape are on rise in India and this South Asian giant is dubbed as “Rape-Capital” of the world. India witnessed country wide protests after it was reported that a medical student was brutally raped in a moving bus on busy streets of New Delhi.
