This Airbus has almost completed its 12 hour journey from Zurich to San Francisco. Production of the type ended in 2011 after 377 were delivered and the market dried up with the transition to twin-engined aircraft for long distance routes. Swiss International Air Lines currently operates 15 of these aircraft and will remove them from service in 2016. An A340-300 serves as the executive aircraft for the German President.
